A helicopter flight can only be a good experience if the weather is favorable. Rain and foggy conditions will ruin your helicopter flight experience.

As a rule of thumb, the ideal time to enjoy a helicopter tour around Rara Lake is between June and August, followed by the spring. However, from our experience, most travelers prefer Autumn, when most of the days are warm and dry, making the tour much more enjoyable.

Our detailed guide to the weather in Rara explains how each season affects the views and the crisp backdrop of the Himalayas.

Rara Lake Helicopter Tour in Summer Season

During the summer season (June to August), there is heavy rainfall, so rivers and streams will rise above their normal levels. If you are interested in doing this heli tour during the summer, you can still try it, even though the weather isn’t so good; flight cancellations and delays may occur.

Rara Lake Helicopter Tour in Autumn Season

Autumn (September – November) is also a good time for Rara Lake Helicopter Tours. There is no rain during this time, so the skies are clear and the views of the mountains are stunning. The weather is also stable, neither too hot nor too cold. This gives you a chance to observe the breathtaking scenery below. There are unparalleled views of mountains, lakes, and hills during the autumn season.

Rara Lake Helicopter Tour in Winter Season

In general, it is not recommended to do this tour during the winter months (December through February). But, it is still possible to take this short heli ride during the winter, and you will be able to see forests, iced temperatures, and snow-covered trails during this short journey. Regardless of the temperature, the beautiful snow-capped mountains of Rara Lake are not frozen, so regardless of the temperature you can see them reflecting in the pristine waters of Rara Lake.

Rara Lake Helicopter Detail Route

There is a reasonable distance between Kathmandu and Rara Lake. It takes approximately an hour and fifteen minutes to travel from Kathmandu to Rara Lake via Nepalgunj. The most interesting part of this helicopter tour is that it gives you a chance to discover the untouched, quiet, and beautiful Karnali region of Nepal. You will also learn about the culture of the far west of the country, since it is located in the city that is located in the far-west of Nepal.

Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour Price in Nepal

Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour

One of Nepal’s shortest yet most captivating holy tours is the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour. The overall tour takes approximately one and a half hours with a combined flight duration of 40 minutes. Gosaikunda is a popular travel destination in Nepal. The main reason for this is the religious significance of Gosaikunda Lake along with the phenomenal mountain ranges surrounding it.

If you enjoy thrilling adventurous flights that lead to pristine wilderness settings surrounded by massive snow-capped Himalayan peaks, the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour in Nepal is for you.

There is a religious site in Nepal referred to as Gosaikunda, which is a lake of alpine fresh water located in Langtang National Park. Both Hindus and Buddhists value it highly. In Rasuwa district, it is situated at an elevation of 4,380 meters (14,370 feet). There are 34 acres of frozen water in the lake, which remains frozen throughout the winter season. However, there are other advantages to the winter season.
The snow-covered surroundings of Gosaikunda Lake provide a heavenly feeling in winter. However the weather may be, there is something different about the lake every month of the year.

It is believed that Gosaikunda is Shiva and Gauri’s abode in Hindu mythology. As they refer to it as Samundra Manthan, the origins of Gosaikunda are directly related to the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. In Nepal and India, pilgrims flock to Gosaikunda to drink holy water and perform pilgrimage during the Gangadashahara and Janai Purnima festivals.

As a result of eating poison, Lord Shiva injected his Trishul (Trident of Shiva) into the mountain in order to cool down his stinging throat. In pilgrims’ minds, drinking water from Gosainkunda Lake keeps them safe from unwanted health complications for their lifetimes.

Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour in Nepal starts at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu’s domestic terminal. You can travel to Gosaikunda in about an hour. Before the flight, we introduce our captains and explain a few mandatory safety precautions. They will also show you what to do in case of an emergency. The helicopter flights we perform with Visit Everest Nepal are safe because we do not compromise on safety.

In order to ensure our safety, we check off our safety requirements before we begin our journey.

Having completed the briefing, the helicopter departs from the airport and heads north. After passing over Kathmandu’s dense city, we enter Langtang National Park shortly after takeoff. Approximately 15 to 17 minutes from the Gosaikunda Lake, we will fly over the scattered Tamang villages and pass beside towering mountains of verdant green.

We will be greeted by the massive Langtang mountain range as soon as we land at Gosaikunda, an altitude of 4,380m. We will reach 4,000+ meters in less than 30 minutes, so spending more than 30 minutes could result in altitude sickness. However, it is unlikely, so we tour the area to take advantage of it as much as possible.

The lake is like a dream when you see it in person, and the soothing sound it emits makes you live in the moment instead of worrying about anything else. It is possible to experience a sudden snowfall at Gosaikunda, and the surrounding area is usually very cold, with thin air and a chilly breeze. The Langtang range surrounds you as you walk.

Our tour ends after breakfast at the famous Gosaikunda tea house before flying back to Kathmandu.

All kinds of helicopter flight services are available through Visit Nepal, whether you’re looking for a helicopter rescue or an exciting adventure in the Himalayas. Over the years, the team has developed a remarkable synergy with the management team to ensure a safe flight execution. Everything is double-checked before departure.

In addition to our well-maintained helicopters, our crew makes sure that they are in perfect condition. Consequently, we invite you to explore Gosaikunda and the Himalaya, and take some memorable photos with you.

Kathmandu To Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour Details

Despite being a short tour, the Gosaikunda Heli Tour is very popular. There are three phases in the helicopter tour, and the journey to Gosaikunda Lake is pretty straightforward. It takes approximately one and a half hours to complete the tour since it takes only about 20-30 minutes to get there. We will spend 30 minutes on the ground at Gosaikunda Lake as part of the overall tour duration. Here are the phases that we will cover during the trip:

Phase 1

After boarding the helicopter from Kathmandu’s domestic terminal, we experience an aerial view of the bustling Kathmandu city as we gain altitude on the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour. Leaving the city, we head north to some of Nepal’s amazing landscapes, including the tallest Lord Shiva statue at Sanga, and over the wavy highways of Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok. Our helicopter flies over the wavy highways of Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok.

Our journey ends at the mesmerizing Gosaikunda Lake, located at 4,380 meters above sea level.

Phase 2

The refreshing breeze hits you as soon as we reach the Gosaikunda Lake region, confirming the fact that we are now in the Himalayas. The lake is surrounded by large rocks of varying sizes and shapes. The water is cold, which is why swimming there is not prohibited, but definitely not recommended. However, pilgrims often dip their bodies in the water as a ritual every once in a while.

There is no guarantee that Gosaikunda Lake will be sunny one day, but it is often snowy the next. This is why we only spent half an hour here. The experience could be ruined if we spent more time. However, we are still able to take in the heaven-like environment and even take some pictures. After a delicious breakfast, we return to the helicopter and prepare to return to Kathmandu.

Phase 3

Upon returning to Kathmandu from Gosaikunda Lake, you have one more chance to comprehend the satisfying trip. After 30 minutes, the trip officially ended at Kathmandu airport. Before we say goodbye, you’ll receive a review book to fill out. It takes just 5 minutes for you to give us your feedback on the tour and to help our crew improve it. We and our crew will use this information to improve our flights and services in the future.

Major Attractions of Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour

Tamang Settlements

Gosaikunda and Langtang region is primarily made up of Tamangs. Tamangs are highly enthusiastic ethnic groups in Nepal, with a very strong sense of unity, bravery, and persistence when faced with challenges. They have a rich culture and tradition.

In addition to being Buddhist by religion, the Tibetan-Burman language family is integral to their social structure. Their language, dresses, and culture play a significant role in their social structure. Their religion is something they are passionate about, and they love to celebrate.

Tamangs celebrate Sonam Lhochhar in February and March (Magh, in Nepali calendar), which is called Tamang Selo, a form of music and dance.

History of Gosaikunda Lake

In Hindu mythology, Shiva’s abode, Samundra Manthan, is also referred to as Gosaikunda, named after the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

During the Hindu holidays of Gangadashahara and Janai Purnima, Hindus from all over the country visit Gosaikunda to drink the holy water.

As a result of Lord Shiva driving his Trishul (Trident of Shiva) into the mountain during a time of thirst, the Gosainkunda Lake was formed. Local legend states that the water of the lake protects visitors from injury for the rest of their lives.

Gosaikunda Lake

Our heli tour ends at Gosainkunda, a sacred lake believed to have been the last destination of Lord Shiva, the god of divine power. A bath at Gosainkunda is also believed to have purified his soul after several years of meditation. In order to cleanse themselves of sins they may have committed throughout their lives, Hindus participate in rituals and take baths at the lake on a full moon day.

Best Time for Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour

A 4,380m high elevation lake, Gosaikunda Lake experiences frequent weather changes. In the Gosaikunda region, weather conditions are typically dry and windy; however, weather conditions can change rapidly. For this reason, it is important to schedule your helicopter flight at the appropriate time. When planning our Gosaikunda helicopter flight, we strive to avoid foggy and rainy weather, as both conditions will distort the views and result in a useless flight.

There is a good chance of enjoying Gosaikunda during the Autumn and Spring seasons. The weather is warm and sunny during this time, which makes it easy to explore the lake and its surrounding areas. You should review the detailed description of each season before selecting the best time to visit Gosaikunda to ensure that the landscape and mountain views are at their best during this period.

Autumn Season

In my opinion, Fall is the best time to go on the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour. However, this is not the only time to do the tour, since the tour only takes two hours. If you are unable to go during the Autumn season, there is still a chance to do the tour.

During the fall season, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the weather is moderate. Tourists are most likely to visit in the autumn months, which means traffic can be heavy.

Spring Season

In the spring (March through May), you can take a Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour. This is a perfect season for Gosaikunda Heli Tours because the temperature ranges from 10°C to 20°C, and you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking scenery. The scenery is spectacular, and you will pass dense forests with rhododendron blooms along the way.

It is fairly unlikely that there will be any rain during the spring, which makes Gosaikunda Lake a very exciting place to visit. However, one cannot always be sure, so one should always be prepared.

Monsoon Season

Monsoon season is characterized by warm summers in the Gosaikunda region. There are frequent rains that make the surroundings wet and slippery. Trekking is not the best idea during the monsoon. The temperature drops to 25°C as you ascend higher. At lower altitudes, the daytime averages 25°C, but as you ascend, the temperature drops to 25°C. There is fog that can obscure views during monsoon.

The monsoon period is when local farmers are busy in the field. Hence, if you happen to fly from the helicopter during monsoon, you will have the opportunity to witness the fascinating terrace farming from above.

Winter Season

It is extremely cold in the Gosaikunda region during the winter. During the day, temperatures can range between 6°C and 9°C, but the temperatures drop considerably at night. During the winter, the lake will be frozen and its surroundings will be covered in snow. The views look beautiful, though. The weather conditions could be uncomfortable if you aren’t used to cold temperatures.

If you intend to visit Gosaikunda during the winter season, be sure you are well-prepared and well-packed. There is no need to worry about anything since our experts will explain to you all there is to know about a helicopter tour of Gosaikunda, even in the winter. The company will provide you with vital information in addition to assisting you with the preparation of your customized itinerary.

Packing List for Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour

It is common for temperatures in and around Gosaikunda to fall below freezing in the morning. You should also bring lightweight foods such as chocolates, dried fruits, or energy bars because of the high UV radiation at such a high altitude. You may also want sunscreen with a high SPF factor.

Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour travelers should bring and wear the following items. This is Recommendation(Not Must Bring).

Table of Contents

Live a Life You'll Remember

Overview: Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

In the helicopter tour of Everest Base Camp, we depart from Tribhuvan International Airport, the domestic terminal, where we take off from Kathmandu valley. Circumnavigating the valley, the flight arrives at Lukla, the gateway to Mount Everest. The helicopter provides an aerial view of verdant hilly landscapes dotted with farm fields and accompanied by pleasant mountain vistas.

Once we reach Lukla Airport our flight experience gets even more refreshing. While the aircraft is swirling around, it lands on the airstrip of Lukla Airport to refuel. From here, you’ll gain an insight into the Sherpa culture. Almost all people in the Everest region follow Buddhism and practice traditions that are associated with it.

Upon returning to Kala Patthar, we take a quick break and fly higher over the Himalayas. Pilots will ensure that all safety precautions have been taken before landing at a height of 5450 meters at Kala Patthar. Within moments, you will be able to see Nuptse-Lhotse-Lola peaks with Khumbu Ice Falls, glaciers, and Mt. Pumori in 360 degrees. While you can take pictures to share with friends and family at home, we strongly suggest travelers be there in person so they can experience the wonderful surroundings and nature.

After breakfast at the highest altitude hotel in the world, we board our flight back to Kathmandu and check into Hotel Everest View. Approximately 20-30 minutes will be spent at Syangboche. Following breakfast, we will return to Lukla Airport for refueling and then fly back to Kathmandu.

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour With Landing Opportunity

The helicopter flights from Kathmandu Airport (Tribhuvan International Airport) to Lukla are the best ways to access Everest base camp helicopter tours with landings. EBC helicopters will offer the first landing opportunity at Lukla Airport on this helicopter flight landing tour. A small town that lies at the foot of the Himalayas.

Lukla (Tenzin Hillary Airport) is the highest and most dangerous airport in the world. During the Nepal helicopter tour to Mount Everest Base Camp, the helicopter will land at Lukla for a few minutes (15 to 20 minutes) to refuel. Lukla refueling prevents any dangerous situations from occurring because of the lower fuel presence at extreme vertical heights.

Pheriche is reached by mountain helicopter from Lukla. It is advisable to land by helicopter from Lukla to Pheriche in order to maintain shuttle weight and number per flight. Second landing provides a 20-minute pause, which supports short break acclimatization for a trip higher to Kala Patthar.

From Kathmandu to Pheriche, one helicopter can carry up to five people traveling from Everest Base Camp. From here, the helicopter can carry 3 passengers and 240 kgs of weight per flight. A shuttle shuttles passengers and luggage to Kathmandu/Lukla if their total weight is higher than 250 kgs in one shuttle.

There are in general two helicopter shuttles per group of 4 to 5, but in some cases of over-weighted groups (although the number of groups is 3 to 5), there may be three helicopter shuttles.

Shuttle from Pheriche to EBC Group Division

As mentioned, the cost above is only for a shuttle or twice. There is a maximum weight of 240 kgs for a single shuttle and 500 kgs for a double shuttle (a maximum of five people per helicopter). This is because helicopters can only carry 240 kgs in the mountains above 4440 meters.

Weight management might be necessary if you exceed the weight limit once you reach Pheriche. Imagine a 100 kgs’ weight limit for 3 people, while 100 kgs’ of 5 people requires 3 shuttles above 4440 meters.

Additionally, it remains necessary for couples traveling together to split at Pheriche and fly separately to EBC; groups are divided by weight. Nevertheless, if an extra shuttle is needed (more than two), there will be an additional cost.

A additional helicopter will be required for a departure from Kathmandu if the total number exceeds the weight limit, and the full cost will be charged. Therefore, in order to provide you with the best experience and avoid all these weight issues, we request you to provide us with your approximate weight when making your reservation. Initially in Kathmandu, it will assist with managing the flight based on the weight.

This will result in a $ 500 charge per extra shuttle (which is shared by our group).

Table Of Weight Limits For Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

Conditions                 Numbers/Kilograms
People who can attend Maximum 5 Person in 1 Helicopter
Weight Limit for 5 passengers Maximum 500 Kilograms

Things To Bring With You On An EBC Helicopter Tour

A helicopter flight to EBC, as well as all other helicopter tours in Nepal, requires being on the safe side. Here is a list of items to bring for the helicopter ride:

  • Long trousers and a warm jacket.
  • Woolen hats and caps
  • Scarf made of silk or nylon
  • UV-protective sunglasses
  • An effective sunscreen cream that suits your skin type
  • Balm for lips
  • Bottle of water
  • Toilet Paper
  • Camera and accessories
  • Warm socks and seekers shoes

This is therefore a list of some of the things you will need during your one-day helicopter tour.

Best time for Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

The Everest Region lies at a high altitude, where the weather changes quite frequently. Although our flight time is only a few hours, this should not prevent us from exploring the wonders of Nepal’s Himalayas. Fog or rain make it impossible to fly when it’s foggy or raining. It serves no purpose to fly if we cannot see the mountain range and unique aerial scenery of distinct topography.

The spring and autumn are the best seasons for a flight to the Everest region. Most of the time, it is sunny and clear during these seasons. Rain is less likely, and humidity is relatively low.

With more snow in the winter, the mountains’ beauty is intensified. Therefore, if you cannot make it in spring, you might consider winter instead. Summer is not the best time for helicopter flights, however. There’s a heavy downpour and the weather is unpredictable since it keeps changing. Let’s examine the weather conditions of the seasons in detail.

Before our trip to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal, our experts inspect the weather conditions.

Spring Season

Heli-tours with landings at Everest Base Camp are highly recommended during the spring season. Around the Everest Region, the weather is clear and favorable. It is possible to see some beautiful landscapes and Rhododendrons blooming throughout the forest. The daytime temperature is mild but the nighttime temperature can plummet to minus 10°C. It’s likely, however, that you’ll have to wait in line, since many people choose the spring for heli tours. Our representative can help you book dates and should be able to guide you through the process.

Also Read: During this Summer if you’re searching for one day outing Destination, Sukute Beach is the one Perfect for You.

Autumn

Nepal is best suited for Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tours during autumn, starting in September and ending in November. Autumn is neither too hot nor too cold. During the day, the temperature averages 20° C, whereas at night it can go as low as minus 10° C. The scenery is spectacular. View stunning mountain ranges, as well as verdant hills dotted with flowers. There may be a long line during the season, so it is better to book as soon as possible.

Monsoon

From June to early September, there is a monsoon season. A helicopter tour of Everest Base Camp with landing is not recommended during the time in between. It is hard to navigate the Everest region during this season because there are mostly cloudy days. It is most likely to experience delays and cancellations during the monsoon season.

Winter

Around Everest Base Camp, the weather is extremely cold from December to February. During the day, the temperature averages 15°C, and at night it drops to minus 17°C. Although it is freezing outside, the scenery is breathtaking. Winter is also a great time for heli tours since traffic is less during that time. You can decide whatever you want. Keep in mind, however, that you may encounter flight delays.

Helicopter tours to Everest Base Camp: Major Attractions

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

Kala Patthar

In the Himalayas, Kala Patthar (5,644m) is well-known for being the starting point of Everest Base Camp treks. Without a permit, this is the maximum altitude that can be reached by most people without a helicopter. The main reason to visit Kala Patthar is to view Mount Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, and surrounding mountains up close and personal.

As an alternative to Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar is a popular destination. There are not many locations where you can see the Everest peak from the base camp, so it is very popular among travelers.

Hotel Everest View in Syangboche

It is 15000ft above sea level and one of the highest hotels in the world. Hotel Everest View received the Guinness Book of World Records accolade in 2004. Takasi Miyahara decided to build the hotel when he saw how beautiful Everest was from Syangboche ridge in 1968.

Located at the feet of Khumbila, Syangboche is a majestic hill. A helicopter shuttle and porter light service operate regularly from the world’s highest-altitude airport. You can experience a wealth of natural landscapes and a relaxing environment at the Hotel Everest View in Nepal.

If you are compelled by nature, want to experience the majestic Himalayas from close-up, or, would like to enjoy the most luxurious breakfast in the world, the EBC Heli Tour with landing in Nepal is the way to go.

Khumbu Glacier

Located at an elevation of 4,900m at its end to 7,600m at its source, Khumbu Glacier is the highest glacier in the world. Khumbu Glacier is also the largest glacier in Nepal and is situated between Mount Everest and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. The trail to the base camp passes by it on the final stretch. An icefall can be found on the glacier, called the Khumbu Icefall.

The trip up Everest is also among the most challenging ones for those attempting the summit. The giant glacier also looks beautiful from above, along with the breathtaking view of the range of the Himalayas around it. Due to this, the EBC Helicopter tour makes it possible to view the icefall without getting too risky on the way.

360° Panorama of Everest Himalayan Range

If you want to enjoy the majestic view of the Himalayas, you don’t need to wait to get there. As you depart for the Everest Base Camp trip from Kathmandu, you will be able to enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayas. The countryside is filled with green forests, waterfalls, rivers, and rhododendron blooms, among other sights.

During the Helicopter Tour to Everest Base Camp, you will witness nature’s wonders at once. We offer helicopter flights to Everest Base Camp from where you will witness a 360-degree panorama of the Himalayas. Besides the peak of Mount Everest, you will see peaks like Mt. Pumori (7156m), Mt. Nuptse (7864), Mt. Lhotse (8513m), and Mt. Cho Oyu (8153m).

From the helicopter, you can see the Everest panorama, the Everest View Hotel, and the landing spot at Kala Patthar. As a result, our Everest Base Camp Helicopter ride will give you ample time to admire the breathtaking view of the Himalayas.

Tour Route To Everest Base Camp By Helicopter

The helicopter will land at four locations. Lukla Airport is the first. You will then be taken to Pheriche by helicopter, and finally to Everest Base Camp. The third location is Kala Patthar, one of the best viewing points in the world. For the fourth place, you can have tea, coffee, or breakfast for 30 minutes at the Everest View Hotel.

The helicopter will take you to the Kathmandu airport after you’ve stayed at the Everest View Hotel. It is typical to fly from Kathmandu airport to Lukla-Pheriche- Everest Base Camp/Kalapather- Everest View Hotel breakfast stop- Lukla airport- Kathmandu airport. Helicopter flights over Mount Everest Base Camp last for four hours.

Additional Information that You Should Know About

Here are some additional things you might want to know about the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour.

Medical evacuation from Everest Base Camp or any region around it

The Everest region is subject to extreme weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and high altitudes. Medical emergencies can strike at any time. Since Everest is situated in a very rural area, it is difficult to get out of there.

Medical problems, even very minor ones, can prove fatal due to not easily accessible treatments, resulting in delays in treatment. A medical emergency like this might require our assistance. You can call our helicopters anytime and a rescue helicopter will be on its way in no time. We can reduce your struggle in the Himalayas to a great extent with our help.

Research Missions

In recent years, the Himalayas have become a primary research destination in global warming studies. The melting of snow and glaciers, as well as many other things, are clear evidence of global warming on Earth. Due to this, there are many types of research being conducted in Himalayan regions regarding this. Besides that, many other research programs are being conducted in the Everest region, such as geological studies and wildlife research.

Our private helicopters can be booked for missions in the Himalayas if you are a part of those programs. With us, you will not have a problem traveling to the Himalayas despite geographical barriers.

Helicopter charter service around Mount Everest Base Camp

We offer helicopter charter services if you need to get from one place to another. Whenever you need our service, feel free to contact us.

Starting Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tours from different location

Helicopter tour from Lukla to Everest base camp, then drop at Lukla or Kathmandu airport

It is interesting to read that one can join in with a helicopter ride from Lukla to Kathmandu in order to reach Everest base camp after taking a small airplane for the normal scheduled flight.

Travelers on a limited budget as well as trekkers wanting to catch a glimpse of Everest at close quarters can take the Helicopter flight from Lukla and return to Kathmandu.

Helicopter flight from Phakding to Everest Base Camp and drop off in Kathmandu

The most wonderful and easiest way to reach Everest Base Camp is to take the helicopter straight to the base camp after hiking from Lukla to Phakding village, where trekkers are able to get close views of the mountain.

You can save valuable time in Nepal by taking a helicopter flight to reach the base camp or a nearby area, followed by a helicopter ride back to Kathmandu.

Another reason to fly from Phakding then is when some trekkers cannot climb to the high Namche Bazaar and beyond, or for people who have mild AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness and must return to base camp to recover.

As soon as you are well and fully recovered at Phakding and if you are interested to continue walking to Namche and further, you may also want to consider taking a helicopter flight to base camp, which fulfills your dream adventure destination.

Helicopter from Namche to EBC and Kalapathar, then on to Lukla or Kathmandu

After reaching Namche Bazaar by walking from Lukla after a scenic flight in a small aircraft from Kathmandu, trekkers may choose to reduce the duration of their trekking holiday by taking a helicopter flight to nearby Everest Base Camp.

It is the one and only best option to take a helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp or near about if you have a short time duration and still want to see Mount Everest at its best.

With a short helicopter ride from Namche, it is possible to cover almost 3-4 days of trekking distance in just 15 minutes, where one can catch a glimpse of Mt. Everest at a stone’s throw from the hill of Kalapathar or on the way to its top.

Fly in a helicopter to the base camp of Mt. Everest or near there for panoramic views of that mountain, so that you can then ride back to Kathmandu with breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks.

Tengboche to Everest Base Camp and then to Lukla or Kathmandu

Taking a helicopter flight to get a close-up view of Mount Everest and adjacent high peaks is a great way to end a pleasant stay at Tengboche and its impressive monastery after exploring this charming mountain village.

Approximately a quarter-hour ride will take you to land near the Everest base camp area or at the base of Kalapathar hill for the best view of the surrounding mighty mountains, including ever-closer views of Mount Everest.

Take in the panoramic views of the Himalayan range from a helicopter while flying to Lukla and dropping off at that destination or continuing the helicopter flight to Kathmandu with the comfort and convenience of a helicopter.

Note:

During Tengboche’s ‘Mani Rimdu’ festival, which is held every year in mid-October or November, priests and monks stage colorful dances as they chase evil spirits away from temples.

Helicopter tour from Pheriche or Dingboche to Everest Base Camp and drop in Kathmandu

Those coming to Pheriche or Dingboche who are tired from walking around at a high altitude can choose to take a helicopter to Everest base camp, saving their time and energy, as a helicopter takes only 10 to 15 minutes to get into Everest base camp.

Since glacial movement and rockfalls significantly change the terrain, a helicopter landing above Gorakshep on the way to Kalapathar top complicates the landing at Everest base camp.

One can then enjoy the surrounding peaks and arctic landscape until they return to Kathmandu after landing in the helicopter landing spot where one can see Mount Everest farther out than from base camp.

Flying into the Himalayan range from Kathmandu, you’ll get a breathtaking view of Everest.

Lukla To Pangboche By Helicopter And Drop Off At Everest Base Camp

In ten or fifteen minutes, walkers who reach Pangboche village at 3,900 m can travel to the Everest Base Camp by helicopter, after covering a few days in the comfort of the helicopter.

Some people have an interest in reaching their dream destinations at Everest Base Camp or nearby once they have recovered from high altitude sickness, which is commonly referred to as AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).

From Pangboche, a chopper ride provides great views of Mount Everest and the surrounding high peaks.

Pangboche is also the last permanent village on the way to Everest base camp. The other villages are temporary settlements to accommodate tourists and trekkers.

Using a helicopter, travelers can reach Everest base camp or Kalapathar scenic hill for a spectacular view of Mt. Everest from a distance, and then return to Lukla on a short flight to Kathmandu, using the best options available.

Tour From Thukla Or Lobuche To Everest Base Camp By Helicopter And Drop-In Lukla

Trekking to Everest base camp from Thukla and Lobuche, which are both on route to Everest base camp in a day or two, is an option for trekkers depending on their time constraints or their physical state to continue either from Thukla or Lobuche.

There are Helicopter rides you can take to see Mount Everest at a distance, or we can take you to Lobuche station at 4,900 meters high, the height at which one can reach the main highlights of your trip.

The Heli-flight from Thukla or Lobuche will relieve you from tricky high-altitude treks, and you can enjoy a view of Mt. Everest either from Everest base camp or from near the top of Kalapathar, looking at its closest point.

The trip ends with a return flight by helicopter to Lukla, where one can continue on the same day, or the following day, in a small aircraft to reach Kathmandu.

Helicopter Flight From Everest Base Camp To Lukla, Or Drop Off In Kathmandu

Those trekking to Everest base camp who have already reached the number one spot and are tired and worn-out from the energy spent, or those who prefer to save time by avoiding a few day’s mileage walks.

It is possible to take a Helicopter flight tour from Everest base camp back to Lukla or continue the flight all the way to Kathmandu with great views of Nepalese landscapes of green hills and valleys in the shade of the Himalayan peak range towards the north.

Helicopter Drop From Lukla To Everest Base Camp And Kalapatthar For Gorakshep

Those who have to trek to Gorakshep after a week to reach this point of 5,180 meters high feel tired to continue further or to save time.

Since there is no landing space at Everest Base Camp, the helicopter can fly to Kalapathar top and then land above Gorakshep.

You’ll catch a beautiful view of Everest at its closest, as well as other giant peaks surrounding this lovely point of view. After a successful and memorable trip, it is time to return to Kathmandu.

Weather at Everest Base Camp

During the monsoon season of July to mid-September, Everest Base Camp is wet, but much greener with heavy moisture, depending upon the season around Everest or those belts of the Himalayas.

Upon landing at higher altitudes, temperatures drop in the shade as well as in the early morning and evening, the day will be clear with strong sunlight and UV (due to a decrease in oxygen and increased air pressure), where you should use a sunscreen to avoid sunburn.

The clearest weather will be from mid-September to December, with a minimum of -5 to -10 degrees Celsius in the morning and at night, and a maximum of 15-20 degrees during the day, depending on altitude and area of a visit. The coldest months will be December to March when temperatures range from -10 to -15 degrees Celsius with maximum temperatures of 15-18 degrees Celsius without a wind chill factor, however, most of the daytime will be clear and sunny.
